Yellon nominated for Svenska Designpriset

Press release 01-09-2015

Yellon is nominated for Svenska Designpriset (Swedish Design Prize). The proposal is a website with a clear visual identity for the Foundation Carl & Siv Malmstens Minne.

When the jury had concluded its assessment of all contributions to this year’s edition of Svenska Designpriset (Swedish Design Prize), Yellon had been nominated in the digital identity category. The proposal is the website carlmalmsten.se and now the jury’s review and the people’s vote will follow, starting 7 September.

Carl Malmsten was the furniture master who saw his design work as a way of changing the entire society. With the drive to ‘plane a new humanity and a better world,’ he created furniture that impressed people and made an impression. Today, the intellectual property rights and the unique cultural heritage he and his wife left behind are managed by the Foundation Carl & Siv Malmstens Minne. The foundation also allocates scholarships to young talents in the art of crafts. Yellon has collaborated with the foundation for many years and the latest assignment was the brand new website which was launched last year.

‘We have been involved from the start in the design and technical development. In addition, we have filled the site with content, searched historical material and created texts. We have helped manage a special heritage and we have let the process take its time. Providing design for a design master is very special and it feels great to have been nominated,‘ says Project Manager Eduardo San Román.

The work group consisted of: Eduardo San Román, Project Manager and Digital Strategist, Pär Löfstedt and Rickard Heldemyr, Art Directors, Lars Norgren, Web Developer and Gabriella Fäldt, Copywriter.

Svenska Designpriset (Swedish Design Prize) is a competition in graphic communication that includes 25 different categories, the jury prize and the award Daredevil of the Year. The winning proposal will be presented at a prize ceremony at Gothia Towers in Göteborg on 8 October.
