Award-winning design from Yellon
17-03-2016: The MMA Thermostat Evason has been awarded the prestigious “Red Dot Award” 2016 for its product design. A design job by Yellon where industrial designers and interior architects have worked together throughout the entire process, from design idea to finished product.
‘The challenge when designing a new thermostat is that it should blend into the wall while having a pleasant design in itself. Knowing that Evosense can be around for over 20 years, the ambition was to design a product that feels contemporary, but also feels slightly futuristic,’ says Örjan Nilsson, Industrial Designer SD at Yellon.
There are three different award categories, product design, communication design and design concept. The different categories have several subcategories to elevate the diversity within design. The Red Dot award is a desirable quality stamp and proof of excellent design.
‘We are proud and happy to achieve the award. Evosense is an excellent example of when our diverse expertise at Yellon is just right. Where industrial designers and interior architects have worked together to make the product as great as possible. Then it’s of course extra fun when the product gets an award,’ says Markus Leijonberg, CEO of Yellon.
‘It’s proof that we have developed a fantastic product together with Yellon. It’s superior when it comes to function and sustainability and it saves work for the installer. Yellon has done a great job and I believe in a bright future for our new thermostat Evosense,’ says Thomas Arvidsson, Development Manager at Markaryds Metallarmatur.
Evosense is a smart thermostat for the modern home. The thermostat senses changes in room temperature and automatically regulates it to keep room temperature at set level. The product is designed to improve life for both consumers and installers. The room temperature is regulated with high accuracy for lower power consumption and the installation time for installers is kept to a minimum.
