Skaraborg District Court merges the courts of Skövde, Lidköping and Mariestad. The courthouse is part of a comprehensive reorganization within Sveriges Domstolar (the courts of Sweden) to create more modern, secure and accessible courts. The new courthouse, situated at Eric Ugglas plats in Skövde, was inaugurated in 2011.
